WILD ON WINDSOR TRIATHLON
Race Information

Email updates will be sent to all registered participants periodically. A final race update will be sent approximately 10 days prior to the race. It is important, therefore, to let us know of any changes in your email address.

Schedule of Events

Saturday, August 29
10:00am - 3:00pm - Lake Windsor (100 North 5th Street at Boardwalk Park) - Race Expo, Packet pick-up, Teams must arrive together to receive their packet. 11:00am & 1:00pm - Athlete pre-race meetings, We strongly urge all athletes attend one of these important pre-race meetings. If, however, this is either not possible or highly inconvenient, we will have packet pick up early on race morning.

Sunday, August 30 - Race Day!
6:15 - 7:00 - Race Morning Packet pick up. No packets will be available after 7:00am
6:30-7:50am - Athlete check-in, body marking, rack your bike
7:50am - Transition Area Closes - No exceptions!
8:00am - Triathlon Start - First of 4 waves, 5 minutes apart
8:15am - 4th & Final Wave Start
9:30am - Swim Course Closes
11:45am - Bike Course Closes
10:00am-1:00pm - Post-race food, drinks, music & expo
12:00am - Awards Ceremony
1:00pm - Run Course Closes

Packet Pick-Up
Packet pick-up will be at Windsor Lake/Boardwalk Park in Downtown Windsor, on Saturday, August 29 from 10:00am - 3:00pm. If you are unable to pick up your packet on Saturday, you may pick up your packet early on Sunday; however you will miss the important race meetings on Saturday. Packet Pickup will end at 7:00am, No packets will be available after that time, so please arrive on time.
If you are an annual USAT member, you must bring your valid USA Triathlon card and a valid photo ID with you to packet pick up!
You will receive three numbers at packet pick up. The numbered sticker must be on the front of your bike helmet. A bicycle frame number must be attached to your bike where it can be seen by officials. The bib number must be worn on the front of your body during the entire run portion of the event. Body marking will take place on race morning prior to the race start in an area located just outside the transition area. You must be body marked before the transition area closes.

Teams
All relay team members must arrive together in order to get their race numbers, chips and packets. Please contact info@5430sports.com a minimum of one week prior to discuss other arrangements.

USAT Membership
All annual USAT members must present their current valid USA Triathlon card at packet pick up. If you do not have your current card with you, you will be required to sign up and pay for a one-day license at the event - this option is also available at the time of online registration. If you have recently purchased an annual membership, you may go the USA Triathlon website and print a temporary card which will suffice for the event.

Mandatory Pre-Race Meeting
There will be two pre-race meetings at 11:00 and 1:00pm on Saturday during packet pick up. The meetings will discuss the course, important safety information, comments and an overview of race rules by USAT officials and a chance to ask questions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to swim in a small section of Windsor Lake. Valuable information regarding the event will be presented and you will have the opportunity to ask questions. Transition Information Transition area opens at 6:15am. Bikes will be racked at that time and any gear for the bike to run transition will be placed near your bike. There is no required bike check for the event. The transition area is closed to spectators - no exceptions. After the race, transition crews will assist you in claiming your gear. All bikes must be removed from the bike lot by 1:00pm. You must claim all your gear as you exit on race day. We are not responsible for lost items.

Lost and Found
Our designated Lost and Found area is in the Information/Volunteer Check-In Tent. Please check there before leaving the event if you have any missing items. Should you find that you have returned home with some gear that is not yours or that you are missing something, please email info@5430sports.com immediately. We will do our best to get your items back to you. All Lost and Found will be kept for one month following the event. After that time, they will be donated to a local charity.

Wetsuits
Wetsuits will be permitted in accordance with USA Triathlon Rules & Regulations. Wetsuits are highly recommended! The water temperature is expected to be between 72-74 degrees at the end August.

Aid Stations
There will be two aid stations on the bike course. The aid stations will have Gatorade Endurance in bottles, water bottles, and an energy gel. We will have four aid stations on the run course. Gatorade, water and energy gels will be available at these stations, as well.

Bike Course
All roads are open to traffic. You must ride on the right hand side of the road, unless instructed by a police officer; or, if we have a section specially coned. Please be aware, courteous, and respectful of the neighbors, drivers, and other folks on the roads. It is extremely important that there be no side-by-side riding, as this and any drafting will be strictly enforced. Please, absolutely no littering on the course. Please discard any used bottles, wrappers, or cups at the aid stations.

Run Course
The run course is yet to be finalized; however, it will include a lap on the running path around Windsor Lake. Aid will be available at approximately every 1.3 miles.

Prizes and Awards
All prizes and awards are equal for female and male. Unique hand-made trophies are given to the first, second and third place finishers in each age group as well as prizes from our sponsors. If you are unable to stay for the award ceremony, we will hold onto your trophy for one month after the race, please contact info@5430sports.com

Age Groups
Prizes to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70

Clydesdale/Athena Division
Males over 200lbs. and females over 150lbs. Prizes will be awarded to the top three Clydesdale and Athena finishers. We will have a weigh in at packet pick-up.

Teams
There are three divisions of teams: men's, women's, and coed. Teams of 2 or 3 competitors may race in the triathlon. Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams in each division.
