Tri-Sustainability
5430 Sports' has achieved over an 80% diversion rate of its trash over the past 2 years. In addition, 5430 Sports introduced in 2008 solar power as its energy source at the Boulder Peak, 5430 Long Course and Pearl Street Mile.
5430 Sports Designated Charity

After four years of successful focus and fundraising for ALS research, we have decided to bring our attention to another devastating disease - blindness. 5430 is designating the Foundation Fighting Blindness as our focus charity in 2009. There are at least 6 clinical trials in their final stages ready to find a cure, and our dollars can make a difference. Please help this effort when you register. For more info visit www.blindness.org as well as www.racetocureblindness.org.

5430 Sports derives its name from the altitude of Boulder - 5,430 feet. Interestingly, according to "Inside Triathlon" magazine, the average time differential between the men and women winners at Ironman Hawaii from 1986 to 2006 was also 54:30 - pretty cool!

Boulder Running Series

Start of Wave 5, 2008 5430 Long Course Triathlon
"Boulder is a great place to race. All the 5430 races are incredibly scenic, with the Front Range as a backdrop, while also being very challenging. 5430 Sports are front-runners in race organization and nobody makes a more unique trophy than Jodee!" --- Craig Alexander, 2008 Ironman World Champion
"The 5430 series has something for everyone. There are three distances to choose from, courses with varying terrain, top-notch race organization, and a fun time is guaranteed. I love being able to compete in such competitive races in my backyard, especially with 5430 Sports' mission of minimizing environmental impact." --- Joanna Zeiger, 2008 Ironman 70.3 World Champion
